Matt O'Toole
Chemical Formula: C6H12O6
Type Of Nutrient: Sugar

Affects On Body

If too much glucose is eaten, this could cause diabetes which is a disease from too much sugar being in the bloodstream.
If too little is eaten, there will not be enough energy for your body to function.

What Is Affected In Your Body?

Your body breaks down food into glucose, this glucose floats around your blood stream while this is going on, a hormone called insulin which is what allows the cell to soak up the glucose within the bloodstream. When too much glucose is digested, there is not enough insulin and then cells can not suck up the glucose out of the bloodstream, leaving all the glucose in the bloodstream causing problems and creating risks. These risks are strokes, heart disease, kidney failure, nerve damage, even blindness.
